A migration is an SEO event

Replatforming changes URLs, templates and page speed all at once, so rankings can drop if it's handled carelessly. I plan the move around what you've already earned: every important URL is mapped, redirected and checked, and titles, descriptions, headings and structured data come across or get improved.

What gets moved

  • Products, variants, images, collections and metadata
  • Customers and order history, as far as the source platform and Shopify allow
  • Content pages and blog posts
  • Redirects for every URL that changes
  • Tracking, analytics and key integrations

Some things don't transfer one-to-one, such as customer passwords and certain plugin data. I flag those early, so there are no surprises at launch.

The approach

How a migration runs.

Audit and map

Crawl the old site, list every URL that earns traffic and build the redirect map before anything moves.

Build and migrate

Test imports, theme build and integrations in a development store, checked against the old site until the data matches.

Launch and watch

Cutover planning, redirect verification and Search Console monitoring after go-live to catch issues early.

FAQs

Migration questions.

01Can you migrate my store from WooCommerce or Magento?

Yes. Replatforming is a big part of the work. Products, customers, orders and SEO equity move across with minimal disruption, landing you a faster store that joins up easily.

02Will I lose my Google rankings when I migrate?

Some short-term movement is normal after any replatform, but a careful URL map, 301 redirects and preserved on-page SEO keep it minimal and recovery quick. I monitor Search Console after launch to catch issues early.

03How long does a migration take?

It depends on catalog size, how much custom functionality needs rebuilding and whether the design changes. I give you a scoped plan and timeline after auditing your current store.

04Do I need to freeze my old store during migration?

Usually only briefly. I run test migrations ahead of time, then a final sync of new orders and customers at cutover to keep the downtime window small.

Ready to switch?

Tell me what you're on now and what's frustrating you, and I'll map out the move.
